Karel Gott | Vánoce ve zlaté Praze

LP Supraphon (CS) 1130828

In september 1969 Karel Gott recorded in the Prague Tyne church on the Old Town Square nowadays a legendary and the most successful christmas album of all time, which was sold in almost 600 000 exemplars at the small 15 mill. national market (!). Vánoce ve zlaté Praze (Christmas In Golden Prague) is an album of classical christmas songs and arias, which was issued in both czech and a little different german version. Both of the versions have been released in different re-editions, especially the german one. It is no need to add that it was awarded by multiplatina record. Reviewers of any times and periods have been praising this album and describing it in superlatives and the former atmosphere of the former moving times have been preserved on the album. Karel Gott demostrates not only his singing skills, but also his musicality and feeling. On the re-edition CD Complete, you can even find a song from the less successful german release (not accessible any more - out of distribution).

Vánoční písně známé i v podání mnoha světově proslulých hlasů, včetně největších operních tenorů, přesto je podání Karla Gotta jedinečné a v řadě ohledů nejlepší. Je to určitě jeden z vrcholů celé jeho pěvecké dráhy.
