In 1983, Karel Gott released a new album called The Sign, which is the first serial record, which was also released on CD. And it is really a sort of sign - it means the beginning of the golden era of the 80's. Every other song from this fresh and bright sounding album has become a hit. Four songs coming from this album got their Czech versions. But the Czech version of Traumzeit (Memory) is one year older and recorded in more belcanto-style (Karel Gott has recorded it before B. Streisand). The German version is more intimate, thus very different from the expressionally musical version of B.Streisand. But in total, the album is very good, if not considered outstanding. An interested remark is that on CD and LP have two songs been recorded in different version (Ich bin der Adler and Traum aus Farben) and the switched in the song order - see track list CD and LP record. The other version of the second song (Das war ein Traum aus Farben) has been released in 1986 on a Polydor's CD called Star-Galerie.
