As the name prompts, it is a romantic, historically sounding love song album, a real masterpiece, which belongs to the best albums in discography of Karel Gott. Even this album is still current, timeless. To the most interesting songs belongs Your song, which in the interpretation of Karel Gott sounds so pure and sincere, that it overcomes not only his own later Czech version on the album Romantika, but even the original by Elton John. Furthermore, the classical song Für Elise, and Love Is a Many Spendored Thing or Beatles-cover Sometimes, here in a beautiful, belcanto version, which does not loose any of its intimity. The whole album is a sort of intimate and at the same time belcanto confession, but while listening to this it, you feel like you were in the Middle Ages, right next to Romeo and Julia - wonderful. In the same year of 1971, the album was also released in a special, austrian version with a different sleeve.

PROMO '71: Perhaps love will make you blind, but it sure won't make you speechless - Sometimes a meaningful silence can say more than a thousand words. Isn't love complicated? It is hard to say how inadequate words can be to open your heart to the one you love. Can you say that you always found the right words at that special moment which makes simple things worthy, destroys values, and nevertheless is called 'love'? "Von Romeo an Julia" is an exclusive and intimate message to those who are still on the romantic side of life. Karel Gott searched for and found melodies of love in yesterday's and today's language - not a confrontation, just a proof that tenderness is not a matter of time or fashion, but of people. That's why "Der Reigen" and George Harrisoris "Something" are not all dust covered. That makes EIton John's "Your Song" so gentle and touching and Danyel Gerard's "Butterfly" so fascinating and dreamy. Melodies, telling of love, words, dictated by love, are these the truths? The truth of love lies in the sensitivity of breathless moments far beyond objectivity. "Von Romeo an Julia" is a message to lovers.
